A summer on the show field
If you’ve been to a truck show anywhere in the South West this summer, there’s a good chance you’ve spotted us. We’ve been getting out from behind the workshop doors and taking the HFG Commercials name — and our trucks — to as many local trucking events as we can fit in the diary.
For us it’s about more than a day out. These shows are where the South West’s haulage community comes together: operators, owner-drivers, fitters, and families who all share the same passion for what goes up and down our roads every day. They’re the people we work with, and the people we’re proud to be part of.
Devon Truck Show
One of the highlights was the Devon Truck Show, held at Smeatharpe Airfield near Honiton on 22–25 May 2026. Widely regarded as the biggest truck show in the South West, it’s a proper weekend of it — hundreds of show trucks from across the country and Europe, a full funfair, live entertainment, and camping right on site. Best of all, the whole event raises money for local community groups and charities, which is exactly the kind of thing we like to throw our weight behind.
Seeing our gleaming MAN lined up among the best-presented trucks in the region was a real source of pride for the team.
Trucks at J24
Closer to home, we’ve also been to Trucks at J24 at Junction 24, North Petherton, just off the M5 near Bridgwater. As the home of Sedgemoor Auction Centre and a long-standing stop-off for drivers across the region, J24 is right at the heart of the South West’s trucking world — so it’s a fitting place to gather, talk shop, and admire some seriously smart machinery.

And something bigger for next year…
We’re also in the early stages of planning to join one of the region’s major truck events next year, this time alongside our manufacturer partners at MAN. It’s an exciting step for us and a great chance to show what the HFG and MAN partnership can offer operators across the South West. More information to follow — watch this space.
