Heavy-duty diagnostics that go deeper than a code reader

HGV electronics are a world apart from car and van systems. They use different communication protocols (J1939, J1708), different ECU architectures, and far more complex emissions aftertreatment systems. A generic diagnostic tool won’t cut it — you need equipment built for heavy-duty commercial vehicles, operated by technicians who understand what the data means.

MAN CATS III — official MAN diagnostics

As an official MAN Service Partner, we run MAN CATS III — MAN’s own dealer-level diagnostic platform. This gives us full read and write access to every MAN ECU: engine management, transmission control (including TipMatic), exhaust aftertreatment (SCR, DPF), ABS/EBS, instrument cluster, body controller, and comfort systems. We can read fault codes, view live data, carry out actuator tests, perform forced DPF regenerations, reset service intervals, and programme ECU parameters — the same level of access as a MAN-owned dealership.

All-makes diagnostics

For non-MAN trucks, we run Jaltest and TEXA heavy-duty diagnostic platforms. These cover DAF (DAVIE), Scania (SDP3 compatible), Volvo (VODIA/VCADS compatible), Mercedes-Benz (Xentry compatible), Iveco (Easy), and Renault Trucks. Coverage includes engine, transmission, brakes, suspension, and body systems.

Common HGV faults we diagnose

Engine derates and limp mode, Euro VI SCR/AdBlue dosing faults, DPF overloading and failed regenerations, EBS and ABS warnings, turbocharger and boost control issues, transmission faults and TipMatic errors, air system leaks and compressor failures, intermittent electrical faults, and CAN bus communication errors between ECUs.

Reading a code is easy. Understanding why that code set — and whether replacing the flagged component will actually fix the problem — is where experience matters. Our technicians diagnose the cause, not just the symptom.
