Heavy repair work for heavy vehicles

HGV repairs are a different discipline to van or car work. The systems are heavier, the tolerances are different, and the engineering is purpose-built for vehicles that run hundreds of thousands of miles under load. You need technicians who understand air brakes, not just hydraulic ones; who can work on TipMatic gearboxes, not just manual boxes; and who know the difference between a worn bush and a compliance failure.

Braking systems

HGVs run on air brakes — a fundamentally different system to the hydraulic brakes on vans and cars. We repair and overhaul full air brake systems including compressors, air dryers, unloading valves, relay valves, brake chambers (including spring brakes), slack adjusters, brake drums and linings, and brake discs and pads on disc-braked axles. We also carry out EBS (Electronic Braking System) diagnostics and component replacement.

Transmission and drivetrain

From manual gearbox rebuilds to automated transmission servicing — including MAN’s TipMatic system, ZF AS-Tronic, and Volvo I-Shift — we handle the full range of commercial vehicle transmission work. That includes clutch replacements (including concentric slave cylinders), propshaft repairs, differential servicing, and hub reduction work.

Chassis and suspension

Air suspension repairs — bags, height valves, levelling sensors. Parabolic and multi-leaf spring replacements. Chassis crack repairs and reinforcement. U-bolt and spring pin replacement. Fifth wheel and turntable servicing. King pin and coupling jaw inspection and replacement.

Engine work

From injector replacement and head gasket work through to full engine overhauls. We work on MAN D08, D20, and D26 engines, as well as Cummins, Paccar (DAF), and other common commercial engine families. All work carried out to manufacturer torque specs using approved parts.

As an authorised MAN Service Partner, warranty repairs on MAN vehicles are carried out to MAN’s factory standards using genuine parts — keeping your warranty intact.
